How To | Mississippi Mud Cake

When feeling the baking spirit again, I decided to go all in and to make a Mississippi Mud Cake. I will be explaining how I made it in this post.

The only thing you need to make this recipe, are mini marshmallows, plain chocolate, and a mixture for chocolate cake. It will take you approximately 60 minutes to complete, and is really easy to make.

First, prepare the chocolate cake according to instructions. Depending how you want your cake to be, you can choose to make it from scratch as well of course.
While it is in the oven, melt some chocolate above a pan with boiling water. Use a small pan and place a glass bowl above. If you will heat the bowl directly, the chocolate will burn, so always heat the bowl undirectly! Slowly add the chocolate and keep stirring untill everything is completely molten.
About this time, your cake will be ready. Get it out of the oven and sprinkle the marshmallows all over the cake untill it is completely covering it.

Add the molten chocolate on top of the marshmallows. Use as much as you prefer, and put it back into the oven on the same heath for 5 minutes.
When the cake is ready, refrigerate the cake untill you are ready to eat it. Done!

I don’t know what to think about this cake to be honest. I love the marshmallows, but I think the chocolate on top is really too much. I am a chocolate lover, don’t get me wrong, but this was just too much for me. I think if I did not used the chocolate on top, the cake would taste better. However, if you do fancy a good strong, chewy chocolate cake, this one is perfect for you! Enjoy!
